We're back!

If anyone had been checking this site, we had been off the radar for a few months.

Life....that's about the only explanation

Leave it to Maki and her persistence to gather everyone, pep everyone up and get us rolling again

GRACIAS MAKI!!!

So we're back in business, with a full agenda of future presentations and shows, they'll be updated here as much as possible and hope we don't drop the ball again!

Mondays at the Park

We were invited to be part of Mondays at the Park this year again. It was fun to be back! We started the show with dances from Sinaloa!

Sinaloa is Northwest in Mexico. If you've been to Mazatlan, you've been to Sinaloa. These dances are very fast, lots of coordinated choreography. They're fun. This dance is called El Sauce Y La Palma

We followed with another set of dances this time from Chihuahua!!

Living Traditions Festival 5/17

We performed in the Living Traditions Festival on 5/17 in Salt Lake City. It was a lot of fun and it came with its usual dose of drama. The festival was running a bit behind, but not as behind as the mariachi band! They were about 15 minutes late. It all worked out in the end-it usually does--and fun was had by everyone! We'll have other images uploaded as soon as we can. We hope to be back next year!!!!

Veracruz

Veracruz is on the East-Central area of Mexico by the Gulf. State of rich history and culture. Dancing Veracruz requires a lot of synchronized foot stomping and lots of attitude.

Here is one of our dancers performing Maria Chuchena which is one of the ballet's featured numbers. Oh yeah, did we mention that she is from Japan?

¡¡Bienvenidos!!!

Here is Ballet Folklorico Citlali's new home. We had been using a free Geocities page in the past, but it is not very user friendly and needs some serious updating. Hopefully this will be a better place to work and to showcase the group as well as add a lot of goodies!
We are currently preparing for our annual Living Traditions Festival Participation on 5/17/08 at the Salt Lake City/County Building (400 South and State Street).
We're always looking for new dancers and love to have people come to try it out!
